Care in the Camarca

This is a school about 45 minutes by truck outside of San Felix.  We were up there in Feb.
This time of year (Oct.) you have to walk because of the rainy season.
We had a very rewarding 3 day stay at the Mission House.
Each morning we would head up the mountain to the school yard  all packed in two trucks.    The water is unsafe to drink and the teachers that live up here are very dedicated to the students.  They have just added on a decent room for the teachers to stay in.   The principal is mainly responsible for the nice enviroment.
The medical mission was on hand to take care of sick children.
We are excited to go back again next year.
We played games with the children, taught them about proper nutrition, fed them healthy food and drinks and shared our lives with them.

It seems like everywhere we go we are in The Comarca.  Probably because it takes up such a large area of  Panama.  This is where most of the Indigenous Indians live.  You can travel 20 minutes, or 5 hours and find people to help.  Mainly, we need to show them a trade and teach them a new way of  life.  We don't want them to be dependent on us or anyone who comes along.   We want them to take care of themselves and their families with proper training.

YEARLY REVIVAL
This is a week long revival held in the Camarca each year.  The children and the adults camp in tents and look forward to the day's teachings.  Many churches help out by ministering to the needs of the people.

A widow lady made these dresses
with a sewing machine she was able to buy.  She now makes dresses for other women and children in the Camarca.   We would like to send sewing machines to provide jobs for more women.

This bag is called a chakra. They are hard to find and when you do find one consider it a gem!   This is one of the crafts they do very well in the Camarca.   The workmanship on each chakra takes weeks to make just one.

THE WEEK LONG CHRISTIAN REVIVAL WILL BE TAKING PLACE FEB. 26TH.  Please pray for souls to be saved.  The harvest is plentiful!!!
